Until fucking diamond/pearl. Then I went with Water.

I stopped playing Pokemon at Diamond and Pearl. The repetiveness kind of got boring after 4 games :l

Pearl was an okay game, but they added in too much useless crap. The way the contest/fair ribbons worked, the underground system, everything was too overcomplicated.
I heard that HG/SS were okay, but I never bought either.
Black and White are just a shame to pokemon.

HG/SS are absolutely amazing and improve Gen II wherever they can.
I was surprised at how good White was in the end. I expected it to be shitty, but it was pretty damn good.
Still, my favourite gen has to be Gen III - Hoenn was an amazing region and I just loved the feeling of the games.
And WATER STARTERS ALL THE WAY.
