As all of you know, Hosni Mubarak finally resigned as Egyptian President following 18 days of protest.

Discuss.

Millions of Egyptians protested against Mubarak's corruption. Shit became so serious that they completely shut down Egypts' internet. Mubarak publicly announced that he would not step down, triggering hundreds of thousands of protesters to protest in Tahrir Square. Christians and Muslims (despite having previous hatred) even helped each other.

"Christians started their Sunday Mass in Cairo's Tahrir Square as Muslim protesters formed a ring around them to protect them during the service. Crowds in Tahrir Square chanted "We are one, we are one" ahead of prayers held at noon for those killed during the protests."

Two riots were violent, and at the end, 335 people were killed. Then finally on Febuary 11th, 2011, Mubarak resigned as President, ending his 30 year reign over Egypt.

To be honest I think the current situation in Egypt, although a sure success for most of the population, is in fact a cause of enormous havoc and disorder. I hope the army and the people will be able to control themselves. I'm very glad that such an evil figure has fallen from its altar. More countries need to stand up against their vile leaders.

What countries do you think, for example?

I'm glad he stepped down. Otherwise it might have been an extremely bloody military crackdown. I just hope that the rebel leader is nothing like Maxamillian Rogspear.

Mostly the middle east, Africa, and North Korea.

Even though 335 people is a sad number, it's nothing compared to the lives mubarak has ruined and would ruin.

I honestly think the protests were a great thing - it shows that people can still achieve things if they're just determined enough to do it. But even though they have had limited success now and the "muslim uprising" continues (just look at algeria now), I don't think this change is that good. A military controlling a nation has NEVER brought up anything good at all.

This. Honestly, I never thought the protests were going to achieve anything. Then Mubarak resigned, and that changed my view of things.

Protesting worked in our country before.
People > Dictator.

And what country would that be?
