maybe one of you guys can help

I AM A NOOB
BANNED FROM COMPUTER MOST OF MY EARLY CHILDHOOD BECAUSE MY DAD THOUGHT I GAVE HIM VIRUSES THROUGH GAMES (and still does, ignorant fuck)
I was hoping one of you guys would be able to tell me if there is something else i should do. first, the story.

so i have this laptop, right
and its all fucked up right now

its an HP Pavilion dv6-3013cl (like that matters)

It was running slow in startup
then it ran slow after startup
then i got error messages for random programs, from itunes to windows explorer
"I/O error status of 0xc0000185"
was what i managed to write down

so i figured, ah fuck. something happend.
when ran a disc check, it told me i couldn't, that some recently installed software had messed up the disc, and that i should do a restore
so i go to look at the restore points; gone

so now i'm pissed cause it is set to create restore points on its own

So i go to my dedicated restore drive, which apparently this computer has (drive D: or whatever)
had it to reinstall all software so that it would be as it came from the factory.

it started to uninstall things, you know, unimportant things like my operating system....
and then failed to reinstall due to something like

instruction 0x0000000071EF064 returned 0x0000000071FBB7E0> I/O error status of 0xc0000xxx where the underlined x's were different numbers than before.

Now when i try to start it, its all I don't know what the fuck you did but i don't work anymore Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start. Gives me options of safe mode, things like that. i try boot normal.
> Windows failed to start.
>>File: \Windows\system32\drivers\ndis.sys
>>Status: (changes every time) 0xc0000221
>>Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.
I hit continue, gives me option of choosing an operating system to start, or run windows memory diagnostic, which i have stayed away from cause i don't know what the fuck i'm doing

so thats as far as i've got. googled this number thing they said virtual memory but i don't know what that is so fuck it
all i've done is ordered a windows repair disc from HP.

basically what i'm asking is, what should i do? will this disc magically fix my problems or is my computer fucked?

EDIT: Oh hey...according to google this file is attacked by viruses frequently.
So I have a virus. Conveniently right as my trial software (came with the computer) expires.
Why do I have Windows Defender if it doesn't fucking work?
Ugh. So now what do I do?

couldnt he just run the OS system from the Boot?
on start up, you can press f11 or summin 2 enter pc summin….
from there i think you can reboot it :)

worked with my old laptop :)

Are you implying safe mode? I think he tryed that and did the recovery partition that all HP computers come with.

no, i mean when you turn on the pc, you get that loading screen, which usually have an "back-entrance" such as f1 or f11, where you can see specs bout your pc, on my pc that ran windows vista, i was able too reboot it from that screen :s

What is this/how do I do

Get parted magic(http://partedmagic.com/doku.php?id=start) burn to a CD, Boot it at startup

Run it from the RAM when you get the options with everything enable, then click Partion Manager, and right click on the "windows" partion then format it to NTFS

let it run, restart laptop, insert windows CD, reinstall windows

You can manually replace the files using a windows install disk.
But it does require a bit of knowledge. Yeah dont go this route.

okay
got the disc much sooner than expected
ran repair
it is currently frozen in place at 0%
it installed all, got to 100% then kicked the disc out
so as soon as it unfreezes it should be good
so i figured this would be as good of a thread as any to also ask

since i got a virus, i can only assume that windows defender failed
as did MSE
what is a good free non-fuck-up-your-computer antivirus software, or should i just shell out a bit and buy one
