For those of you who do not yet know of it, stereoscopic images enable you to see 3d without glasses. its a simple and effective way to show depth in your pictures. google for an in-depth guide, but the basic idea is this; you cross your eyes until the left and right pictures become one. If you do it right, your eyes will focus on the center picture, and it will appear that there are 3 images. the center is the 3d one.

as an example, and to test your eyes on it, stare at the center of this picture. begin to slightly cross your eyes, and try to line up the moons. if you see 4, you've gone too far. some people see it better farther away. i think about 2-3 feet from the screen is ideal, but really, its whatever the fuck
After discovering this phenomenon in real life, I proceeded to take pictures of things twice and whatnot.
So then i wondered if it could work in gmod as well.
so i set up a few props at varying distances
used a ragdolls head as a guide for the spacing (approximate human eye distance required). I set up a camera on the left eye, turned on, screencap, moved the camera VERY FUCKING SLOWLY to the right eye, and did the same thing
threw the images together in paint (for me i can just look at them with win.7 handy half-window feature, you guys cannot)
and got this result
forgive the quality, and the size. it is 3 am and i'm not coherent. trust me, this looks more impressive larger sized and hopefully i can get a better example in the morening
but the point being, that it worked. now, here is the problem with this; targets must be stationary, and the distance must be that of the human eye.
now if only we could figure out a good use for this...i'm just excited it worked
