The myths and rumors were true. After the video game crash of 1983, which was kickstarted by Atari's massive failure with ET: The Extraterrestrial (hailed as arguably the worst game of all time), the company allegedly buried several million copies of its worthless games in an unspecified area of the New Mexico desert. This story was unconfirmed, and until recently, only a myth.

Over 30 years later, the legendary cache was found and excavated. Some copies were still shrink wrapped.

Pretty cool to see video game history unfold before our very eyes.
