Source SDK probs... AGAIN.

Ok, now, Source SDK will open, but when I try to open Hammer Editor, it just doesn't do anything.  SDK stays open, but Hamer never loads and opens.

I've validated, and I've reinstalled, and I've validated again.

Any ideas?

I think it depends on the game.

They are planning on releasing hammer and tools with each game now instead of using the source sdk package.

You can subscribe to the sdktools_beta in the properties of the game.

After it downloads the tools just go to "D:\Programs\Steam\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Source\bin" (example) and launch Hammer.bat

This is currently available to TF2, CSS, and DODS I believe.

That's how it used to be but I haven't worked with it since.

Every time you download Garry's Mod illegally, Garry makes a bug.

When people ask me "Plz" because its shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because its shorter than "Yes".

Well, I don't want to subscribe to a beta, because I don't want to risk ruining my map or anything (unrealistic probability, but eh.  I'm also lazy.)  The thing is, though, i'm loading it as Source Engine MP and CS:S as my game, but it won't work...

It would be harder to fix it.

Ok, I checked for a beta for SDK, but there is none.  So, I went to the next step.  I found the Hammer.exe in the cs:s folder, but it's saved to separate configs.  Is there a way to extract the config I had previously and import it into the "cs:s hammer" config?  Or would that mess a lot of stuff up?

source sdk launcher thing is outdated, run the hammer.exe shit from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Source\bin

that's for counter-strike source, its the same for other games but in their own game folders.

Ok, first:   Loke, what's the difference?  I know there is one, I'm just wondering.

Second:    In the .bat file, it's still the regular CS:S config.  I'm wanting the config I was using previously, with all the stuff already there.  I know I can re-do it, but it's a pain.

I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait for a proper Gmod configuration once everything's sorted out so we'll probably have to set all the configurations again.
For now I'm just using the CS:S version of hammer to get some map design done. Really sucks how they do this.

I heard the 2006 version of Hammer works.

What error message are you getting, if any?

2006 needs hldm, which I don't want to install atm, maybe later.

No error message, it just shows the mouse cursor loading thingy, then nothing.
