Windows 7 unable to launch 90% of the programs after updating

   I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 64bit for quite a bit now. At first there were no problems with updates but the last two times it installed updates to my computer it made it basically almost useless. After the updates I'm unable to start any kind of browser, any kind of game or even use windows media player, steam and orgin also doesn't work. In order to deal with this I usually just delete the newly installed updates. So far it has worked both of the times but I have a feeling this is how it's going to be like forever and I would like to know if I can stop it. I did looked this up on the Internet and I've found some solutions but I have a feeling that it ain't going to work.
   However I suspect that this could be happening because my Windows aren't exactly legal, they are able to get updates and it says that this version is verified, but in reality I don't think it is a legal copy of them.
These Windows were installed by my mom's co-worker. He used an usb connection from his computer to mine and installed the Windows that way, I was there the whole time too.
   
So could this be happening because of my Windows 7 not being legal or is there something else that is causing this? Keep in mind that it wasn't like this at first, the updates used to work just fine until 2013 - 08 - 31 if I remember correctly (that was the first update that fucked my shit up and the update after it which was today did the same).

I can't find it on the updates list. It might be because I have already deleted it since I removed multiple updates installed today but what exactly do you mean by hide it? It disappears right after I delete it.

It says that I must be an administrator running console session in order to use sfc utility even though I probably am singed in as one since I can use all other windows features that I have ever needed so far.

In All Programs type cmd, right click on cmd and run as admin. That will get you the administrator prompt you need, however know that if your windows is illegitimate an sfc scan might remove that method or corrupt your system's ability to boot.

And what he means by hiding is: If you run windows update manually and check the updates that you want yourself, you can normally exclude updates. However, if you also right click on those updates you can hide them from any further updating. You can also reset the ones you hide later at any time.

I would try that first before you run any file checks.

Apparently that update error 0xc0000005 means access is denied to w/e resource involved. Probably caused by a bad update. This is the update that this person had a problem with.

Try to disable one by one and find out which one is causing your problems, then attempt to uninstall and hide it from the update list so that you don't have to worry about it in the future.
