Apartment Rules and What not..

Does anybody else live in an apartment building? If so what are your opinions with the rules and regulations you must follow in order to not be evicted.
Such as:
Being quiet between a certain time period.
Not disturbing neighbors.
Lights out at certain times.
Etc

Just wondering because I recently had family over and they were making a lot of ruckus and noise. A neighbor nicely came up and asked us to quiet down because his mother was resting or something of the sort. We said yes, we will quiet down and then the man left. My mother then started complaining about him asking us to quiet down saying "Euh, he shouldn't be complaining about us being loud because our quiet time is 10:00.!" (It was 7:57 PM At the time)
Then my sister started saying something backing her up and I cut in saying "It is not like they are reporting us to the police or anything, just forget about it and do what they ask. They were nice about it anyways."
Also, I just got bored and felt like posting a thread. Happy TRITACOS's first thread posting.. :party:

Technically they don't have the right to do anything if you kept being loud, but that's all.

Under those circumstances it seems reasonable to quiet down.

I look at it as you shouldn't be forced to be nice, just be nice. So what if you don't "have to", whatever lol.

Now if that person was rude/mean/asks all the time or something it might be a different situation.

I use to live in an apartment. Hated it. Had loud neighbors.

But yeah, if they ask nicely you should quiet down, even if it's early. You want to stay on good terms with your neighbors.

I hate apartments, just for the aspect that you can't make any noise without having someone complain that you're too loud. I used to live in an apartment too, neighbors didn't care except one old guy below us.

He would always bang his cane/broom on the ceiling to try to tell us to stfu, which in return we just banged down at him. Was worse when I practiced guitar and what not. Eventually after a good year, he moved out, a few weeks before we did.

But even though I'm sure I was obnoxious in my case, you shouldn't have to stop what ever you're doing just to "quite down" for someone's mom.

I just disagree with being a scummy neighbor, I hate being quiet for someone just as much as someone else. I just feel like a complete scumbag if they ask.
