A forum board dedicated to news/current events? Your thoughts?

What do you guys think about having one? Would any of you post there if such board would exist? Do you think it would be a nice addition or a pointless board to the forums?

Using the same logic one could say that such boards as Movies & Television, Games, Comics, Anime and Manga and possibly a few more are not necessary because we have the Discussion board.

I think discussion is fine for those topics.

I'd honestly be in favor of merging boards instead of adding boards. I like forums when they are just one big forum where you can talk about anything. 
Though I'm probably the only one in favor of that.

Isin't that what the Discussion board is mostly for? - discussing current news/events?
But i guess it wouldn't hurt to have a board of it's own...

I think this can work out better than making a whole new board,we could just keep it inside Discussion as a CB.

My opinions:

1. People tend to visit child boards way less often than primary boards.
2. Discussion board is a perfect place for this as I think any topic in the news board would be worth a discussion.
3. If every other board covers unique topics, what's left for the regular discussion board?
