Q: Can I buy items that will affect gameplay and give me an advantage?
A: No. All of the items are purely cosmetic.

Q: Does this mean CS:GO is free to play now?

I wouldn't be too worried about the guns to be honest, they're going to be skins that everyone can see.
F2P isn't happening, just public models and skins.
Knowing Gamebanana community, they will just make all the skins default for everyone to use if the camos get annoying.

No that'd be you. You're stupid if you really think that isn't the direction they aren't headed towards. Valve is loving the F2P microtransaction model as shown with TF2 and Dota 2. People are eating that shit up.

I don't think that CS:GO will really be going F2P since if you're talking about dota 2 how they went F2P, DotA 2 was originally made to be F2P and It was Valve's plan all along.
