Should I get a mousepad?

   Alright, today I got Razer Deathadder 2013 mouse and when I downloaded this program called Razer Synapse 2.0 which is a program specifically for Razer mice I've noticed that there is a calibration feature on it which I believe has settings for each Razer mouse pad as well as it has the ability to scan other mouse pads or my wooden desk. This made me think if weather or not should I get a mouse pad since people on the internet have been saying that they last for years and are a better choice then a wooden desk. So is it worth getting a mouse pad? If yes, should I get one of the Razer one's (because of calibration feature) or should I look for any gaming pad that has the best quality for the lowest price (since there is an automatic calibration feature anyway)? Feel free to post mouse pad suggestions if you have any. I'd also like to ask if anyone here knows anything more about that calibration feature and if it actually makes any difference.

The calibration feature optimizes the tracking for the small selection of surfaces the software supports I believe.

However, I do recommend something other than a wood bottom for the mouse for best tracking.

If you get a mousepad for that reason it doesn't have to be some "premium gaming mousepad".

But I do recommend to get a BIG one, at least I have noticed that it lets you get serious with whatever application you are using whether graphic design or games, you always have a reliable surface for the mouse - and less picking it up and moving it!

Yeah, I found out that my infrared mouse don't like my wooden desk very much so now a simple sheet of paper is doing the job and it seems to be doing it pretty well. I probably will be getting a mouse pad for my mouse once I go to the city. What surface do you guys think is the best for a mouse with an infrared sensor?

Type of mousepad is up to you. This is assuming ya even got one lol.
I would get one so it wouldn't wear the mouse feet down too fast.

I have one of those big-ass Razer Goliathus pads which I got cheap. Covers most of my desk and is pretty nice. I even have my keyboard on it because of the size.

As long as your table isn't wearing down the mouse sliders like mine is, you don't have to get one. Still, I would get one because I like the way they feel and you can bring them anywhere you bring your computer.

Don't get an expensive "gaming" mouse pad, they're usually ripoffs.
Just get a cheap mouspad, it should do.

I need my mouse pad to be at least something like a paper sheet in size and most of those cheap mouse pads are just too small and knowing that I don't live to any big city I'm not so sure if I'll be able to find a good cheap pad in stores and if I want to order a mouse pad from the internet then I'll probably have no choice but to get a gaming one since they're usually the only ones available.

I'm basically using a sheet of paper that is sticked to my desk with ducktape right now.

Its better if there is a sort of stiff cushion under card stock than just plain paper on wood. Soft mouse pad, but not a spongy annoying piece of shit, without the strangeness of a hard pad. Best mouse pad ever, no exceptions.
I foolishly bought the Razer Megasoma. A real piece of shit for build quality, and the coating liquefied into glue a week later... but it makes an awesome pad for a piece of card stock :3

I literally have the same mouse, and someone's the same problem since I have a wooden desk. It's more because there is this little crevice in my desk which sometimes makes it not respond, but for me it isn't really that bad.
