So I am now starting to notice that whenever I play low end games such as gmod or half life 2 sometimes my fps drops which is really interesting to me also I can start to see some artifacts in gmod when looking in the grass and such is it because I did not delete my old graphics cards drivers? or is my gpu just acting up and it's a Hd 7870 ghz edition GDDR 5

Sounds like it might be overheating.
To be safe, you should re-install your graphics drivers.
Make sure there's good airflow in your computer case.

Impossible it is not overheating at all I even popped out the side of my case for better air flow in my computer so that's not the case (no pun intended)

What I always do to increase air flow is get my box fan and put it parallel to the computer case where I took the side off.

Did you manually overclock? If so, you might be pushing it past its limits. When I went too far on my gpu (7850 2gb), I got artifacts on some games like LoL. Computer even crashed once.

Are the FPS drops irregular or are they coming from certain areas in certain maps?

No over clocking what so ever and did have old gpu it was GT 440 and I had no idea how to get rid of old drivers I am thinking that is the case so how do I do it?

If you had it for a while, you should open it up (take out some screws) and look for dust near the heatsink/fan. That's what happened to me.

Before explaiming "IMPOSSIBRU" and summoning Jackie Chan to defend your honor, try checking the actual temps. All the airflow in the world wont help if the heatsinkk is loose (happened to me) or if its got more dust than Mars.

Step one of the guide where it says click here that link does not work so therefore I can not complete the guide and I did what step 2 said and I am pretty sure all of my drivers in my computer are gone but I really have no way to be sure so I guess I will play some games and see if the minor lag comes back again.

So now I think I just need to know how to completely get rid of my nvidia drivers or just somehow find out how too update my gpu's newest driver

Please download MSI Afterburner, install it, and tell me what your temps are. (on idle and on load if possible)

Without knowing your OS, Here is the driver page for AMD. When you install them there should be an option for a clean install (uninstalls old driver completely then installs the new one)
