I was wondering why my graphics card was revving the fan so fast. This is what I found when I opened it up.

Omg LOL...
The dust on that thing basically has the consistency of your carpet.
My brother had his computer running for like 4 years and never once cleaned it as far as I know. Didn't even look nearly as bad as that looks...
Do you keep your case open?

Two, I cleaned the rest of the computer before but no so in-depth to open up the graphics card.

No. If you look up the ATI 5770, half is the actual card and the other half has a cooling system. I looked up some videos on how to open it up cause it looked confusing and some guy had the same actual dust problem.

Did a very extensive clean-up including taking off some of the cosmetic covers and boy did I find a lot of dust in between.

After 6 months, my graphics card fan became noisy and I had to clean it out. 2 Years is quite a while  ???

How do you clean a graphics card?
for a lighter cleaning, just blow compressed air into the fan from a can.

for a heavier cleaning, you would need to take the card out, remove the heatsink, blow errything away with compressed air.

it can depend on the card too, some cards are more "open" and others are like boxes.
