Sabb:
Did he mention what kind of herpes/the full name? 'Herpes' isn't simply an STD, there are many other diseases/viruses that contain 'herpes' in their scientific names, like shingles as Marie mentioned, or cold sores, etc. When you leave it simply at "herpes" it makes it sound like the STD herpes which in this case I highly doubt that's the situation. Though if it were shingles, that may actually not cause many problem. Shingles isn't really a threat to youths. Out of curiosity, have you had chickenpox before? Shingles doesn't necessarily only develop after chickenpox, but it's caused by a variation of the same virus, so those who have had chickenpox (which is a very large majority of the population) are slightly more likely to develop shingles. I think it's extremely rare to get shingles without ever previously having chickenpox, but I could be wrong.

Oh that's a good point. If you haven't had chickenpox yet, that might be what it is, since Shingles is really for older people. Though it isn't impossible for younger people to get it either, it is rare. Either way I'd keep away from people since it is contagious (depending on what it is, and who has had Chickenpox in your family) and clean off things you use.

I did in fact have chickenpox at a young age (toddler) , and yes i do know that Herpes is not just a STD, it's just often passed on through sexual activities as usually the sores/spots/boils appear around the mouth or Private parts

My best guess is that it's shingles, and it's probably hereditary.
