DayZ Tutorial: Increase performance using RAMDisk


Basically since Arma/Dayz are weird games they depend on the write speed of computer, when using Ramdisk, it creates a Virtual Hard drive off of your ram which is DEDICATED to Dayz (400-450MB). Ramdisk has incredible speeds so it makes the game run a lot smoother; Now this isn't guaranteed for everyone. Everyones Computer is different so performance may vary if you still want a better optimization follow this guide.

4gb easily if you really wanna go over the top, 1gb is fine though

EDIT FOR THE 6TH TIME....

I got it fixed. It was originally kicking me for some reason but I had to put the DayZ caches in the new drive.

EDIT FUCKING AGAIN.

STILL! ASDFKSDLFBGSDG It keeps kicking me. I've tried all I could. I can't go onto teamspeak.

The @Dayz that is in your OA folder cut it into your desktop (this will be your backup) basically what the ge is trying to do is load both @Dayz Folders, which causes a problem.

If the problem persists, tomorrow at 9AM PST I will be on ts3, and I will give ya further assistance, also if possible get teamviewer

I can't go on TS3 because of the password. I'll try your tip.

Did you fudge your settings around? Also the password for Teamspeak is "rANdOm" O=letter

I kept them as they were. Didn't really get an increase. Is there certain settings I should have?

30 - 40 in an open field.

20 - 30 in a forest.

20 in a town(no matter the size).
