New Minecraft?

I was wondering if we could start a new minecraft world when the next update (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_features) comes out.  It should be happening sometime around the 30th.  I've heard that there is a mod where you can type in the chat something like "/world1" and be loaded on to a different world, so that way, we could have different maps going at once.  I've wanted to start again in minecraft lately.  It's always starting that's more fun, anyways.

I don't know what's up with the RnD minecraft but it won't let you join it and refuses connection. Dunno where's coolz either.
