Copying new unique entity names quickly?

I remember seeing a video tutorial a while ago that about this trick where you could quickly name entities if the first one had the suffix "_01". But now I don't know how to replicate the process, or if it exists. I tried to simply shift-drag an already named entity but it holds the same name and is a bore to constantly change the name every time I shift-drag.

This would help me because I'm trying to make a long track out of path_tracks and help something else I'm trying to do.

A Man named William Reed's last living testament says that he is going to read his own will.

Will Reed's will will read "Will Reed will read Will Reed's will"
