In context, it's really refreshing actually. Normally, there's a pretty depressing tone throughout the game with, you know, the whole world ending and all.
For once, they get to relax for a bit and live like normal people, if only for a few hours. Considering anyone can die at any moment, might as well embrace it.
As corny as they can be. Heh.
The whole suit thing is because Quarians (Tali's race) have really fucked up immune systems. They have to live in those suits, since even a common cold could kill them, which is why her romance line is a little more depressing than the others. She can't really just hold another living being and feel the warmth of their bodies on their own.
I should also mention, Tali is the fan favorite waifu.
