I would still consider it though. The only ability power and mana that comes from it is part of the sheen, which is the reason it's useful (for the passive). It's a lot burst if you're building pure damage. It's very situational though and probably not often ideal I will admit. I think I've only used it on him maybe once or twice.
I don't main Yi so I can't offer much insight, but I will make a few comments.
First off, please never use a Mobafire guide. I have seen quite a few guides from the site and have never seen one that is remotely good. Furthermore the Master Yi guide you linked hasn't been updated since September 2012, so its extremely lackluster in useful content.
Tehhank you have the right idea with your build; regardless of whether you go Top or Jungle as Yi you should always try to get a Youmuu's Ghostblade early on. The active combined with your ultimate is extremely powerful, and if you combine the active on Ghostblade with Blade of The Ruined King you will chunk enemies extremely fast.
I'm a huge fan of Trinity Force on Master Yi personally. It adds huge burst combined with the two items mentioned above and every stat it provides is nice for Master Yi to have. If you're getting resets on your abilities from your ultimate, you'll be able to proc the sheen passive from Trinity a lot. I don't think Shiv or PD are bad on Yi by any means, but of all the choices from Zeal I definitely prefer Trinity Force.
