As far as your plans.... You really need to consider the actions of humans in survival aspects, where they will kill you just for being in the way. It's an instinct.

If a zombie pandemic were to occur, I would accept that fact that I'm going to die and make the whole situation into a game. Or at least, I would like to think I would. No sense in worrying over something that's inevitable.

Well first off, unless it's a massive airborne infection in New York City or something, if one zombie were to ever show its ugly face...military will be all over that shit and can probably control it in less than 1 minute.
