My PC does the same thing.

>copy 3gb game to USB drive
>transfers around 200 mbs for a few seconds, then drops drastically down to around 1-5 mbs.

Are you going over wifi?

If so the average throughput you should be seeing is 2.75 MB/s. Taking in account for errors and losses from distance it would be less.


So not that surprising if that's the case.
