Why all the hate on gays? [SERIOUS FUCKING THREAD]

While my parents and I are catholic, we do not believe in the "extermination" or hate of gays, I've met some really cool and fun gay people. when I say like "oh being gay is bad", im just fucking around I honestly DON'T mean it. Now why others make fun of it is because of there beliefs in religion and just how they feel on it.
Also other thing people may not like is when gays are just making out and stuff like trying to force it down your throat about "yeah legalize gay" out in public, like honestly that sort of makes me eeeeh.
But that does NOT mean I'm against gays. Or dislike gays.

Well my family doesn't have any religion but my mom thinks that if you're gay, you have something weird in your mind like a defect of some sort. Yet she is tolerant of them, sort of.
I'm fine with gays and most people are as long as they don't over express themselves and being a stereotypical one.

Well in a modern, mature society, we really don't have a problem with it.
Just people insert the bible up their ass *cough*south*cough as if it was actually important to society, and pull the whole moral excuse (isn't that shit only included in like, the old testament?). Really, gay marriage is the same as just about any marriage, same tax benefits and commitments and what not, just instead of two opposite genders, it's just the same gender.
And some gays are cool with jokes and don't mind the term faggot, but others tend to flip shit at you, and go on a whole speech on why they're special than everyone else.

I'm okay with gays, just as long as they don't act stereotypical. As Juan said, I've also met lots of cool gay people, and they just act normal as anyone else.
I.E: WOW YOU LOOK FAAAAAABULOUSSSSSSSS, YOU GO GUUURLLLL, etc.
