Surely the internet have made a big impact on pretty much everyone, but internet wasn't the place where this kind of problems have occurred. Those were brought in by people.
Now back on topic, I've never encountered those kind of gay people who think that their special because they're different etc. and the whole idea of these kind of people is very unusual to me and I would surely not tolerate them.
