Don't buy the 7770. Many cards at similar price points that far outperform the 7770.

Many better options out there. The 650 TI (not to be confused with the standard 650 which performs poorly compared to the 7770) or the 6870 are both good options, and perform somewhat similarly (the 650ti has a bit of an edge). If you want to go a bit cheaper the 6850 is a great option as well. All three perform much better than the 7770 and reside in a similar price range.

or

and if you want a bit cheaper:

The stock 6850 will run at ~3-4 (~36) fps faster than the 7770, and the 6870 will run at ~ 10-13 (~44) fps faster on ultra quality in 1920x1200 resolution in battlefield 3.

The 650ti will get a few fps more than the 6870 on average.

Meh, for around <$150 you can probably get a a 6850 or a 6870, they're both really nice cards, I've been using the 6850 for a good two years now and it handles anything I throw at it on max graphics, with max AA in some games.

Look into either EVGA or MSI. I'd say they're the best brands.
MSI has some excellent cooling systems with their cards while EVGA usually has "Superclocked" cards

Looks like you're going in the right direction.

Evga is a good brand, however they only sell Nvidia cards. You can't really go wrong with any of the board partners in reaility, asus, saphire, his, xfx, etc. The quality of support will vary a little bit, and the pre-overclock varies as well. But any of them sell solid cards.

I like Cu-Core Asus cards. A lot of them actually run a bit cooler then the other cards.

You could get an HD 7850 for the same price as a 6850. I heard those could max out BF3.
