You know, admins can deal with problems without even going in-game, right?
I get contacted by plenty of people in-game all the time. They send me a few screenshots, and within minutes, the situation is handled.
I can certainly say you've never done that though.

I would definitely get on more then just on weekends if the servers wouldn't go up at 10pm at my local time.
Also keep in mind that some of those rdmers might keep coming back later with different names.

I am really starting to like the way one TTT server I play on [but can't now since it won't be back up until their admin fixes it, when gmod 13 comes out]:
Guests: Can start votes, vote in - long cooldown period between votes to start
Respected: [like Regular] - same
Moderator: [like VIP] - much shorter cooldown, if any at all, can also directly kick or ban
Admin: - everything and more.
Tweak that to the system servers like rNd, Nexus, etc use, that could be something like:
Guests: can vote only
Regular: Can vote, and start votes only; cooldown period between votes [rest of round? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 15 minutes?]
VIPs: Unchanged
Admins: Unchanged.
I mean, sure we are very used to the current system, but in my opinion this simple change can help a lot. It would let the regulars, who are on a hell of a lot more than VIPs it seems have some ability - albiet limited - to handle problem players. [and lets face it, for regulars I bet some of us feel pretty goddammed useless if there is a problem player and we can only vote on a nonexistent vote - since the one(s) who can start votes aren't on] That way we don't have to worry so much about getting VIPs on, or admins on, or the case of some guy RDMing, and leaving before a VIP or admin gets on... or the case of some guy going on, rdming, and leaving just as people start realizing what is happening/go to get proof.
Just an idea.

This would pretty much bring the same problems when there were a respected system. Retarded votekicks/bans + retarded guest votes.
Also giving such power to regs an not giving any more power to VIPs would be illogical since then there wouldn't be much of a difference between those ranks considering how it takes to get those ranks, however I wouldn't mind if that power would be temporarily given to regs to see how it goes, but I'm absolutely against giving the vote power to guests.

getting banned, reason: "I WANTED TO RDM MOO YOU FKER"
also i remember once something broke and you wouldn't get kicked of the server, but it would register the ban, so when the map changed or you tried to join again, you would alredy be banned and couldn't join until the ban expired... i had only 1 hour to play that day and still got randomly banned because "IT DOSN'T BAN YOU, DON'T GET MAD HURR"
Looking at the regular board, and people saying "He T baits sometimes but is a good guy, +1", i'm not really sure if doing that would be a good idea.
