Hey everyone! I was just browsing for new ttt servers, when I stumbled upon the -random- ttt server. We played on a custom map by MetaHaze, who told me you could request your maps to the server map-list. (w00t!)
I have started mapping recently, so I thought this would be a great place - I also realised I already had a several-months old inactive account on this fourm for being banned once - lol.

Anyway, I hope to spend more time on the server now, and try and do some mapping here :)
About the map:

I originally wanted to create a ttt_mine map, just like MetaHaze - but quickly realised displacements ways a way too big task for me at such an early stage.
Instead I got inspired by a post on Facepunch, and now I'm trying to create a Metro 2033-like map.

While I've been mapping, I realised that this looks nothing like Metro 2033, so I might just change the name to something else.
Though, I am planning to add the infamous Metro 2033 tunnel and perhaps also the shiny blue spirit as a hazard.
I may also change the lighting, and perhaps add some snow, particles and some more junk in the entrace and toilets, since this is way too bright for Metro 2033 as well.

And yeah, I have a question... Is there any way I could change the overall colour of the map? Right now it's really just plain. Some fog and colour correction to match the deppresive tone of Metro 2033?

Yes. I think if you set the color of the fog to like 40 40 40 and the density to 0.6, the distances will vary so you'll have to change start and end. I've only seen a few maps on ttt that actually use color correction correctly (office_b1 and gunkanjima) and it can have a harsh effect on visibility if you wash out colors too much.

I remember seeing a discussion on interlopers about how a guy hit the brush limit trying to make the framework of the tunnel. You could make the framework out of brushes but be sure to port it with Propper. Or you could PM me the prefab of the framework and I can port it into a model for you.

You could also make a custom texture with a strong bump map to simulate the shadows.  ;)

Looking good, I'm glad to see that care has been put into every section. Do keep in mind that the overall layout of the map might affect how rounds of TTT are played on it severely. I'll download it and test it a bit at some point.

As for the name, peraps "ttt_unamned_wasteland"? Just try to do something that is not generic.
I have avatars and signatures disabled. There is no reason to judge people here by anything other than what they post.

I used 10 minutes to create the signature, and I've been working on the map for over half a year. I should probably finish it now :p
