The defense budget literally swallows other budgets.

I'm not saying to cut the whole damn thing, but there's no need to spend 700 billion dollars on it. It would be better if we cut unnecessary spending on defense and put that cut in something that's worth investing in, such as education, science, and healthcare.

yeah thats discretionary spending. you look at whats really dragging us down and youll see its all these entitlement programs that they call mandatory spending.

you want to cut the budget? cut down on welfare,medicare, and medicade. that would cut it by almost twice of what defence would do and would still leave us with a strong military.
