To buy the gear he had takes A LOT of money. A ballistic vest, helmet...full riot gear? That's thousands of dollars.
Tear gas, smoke bombs, assuming they're not homemade...very hard to get.
4 weapons used (they think)....not cheap either.


Anyone else think he may have been sent on a mission?

Seriously, though, he was just standing next to his car. He didn't resist arrest. Not to mention he told police his house was booby-trapped. That's pretty unnerving. His gear was definitely not cheap, although it's not too hard to make smoke bombs and irritant gas grenades.

Honestly I didn't know much of this until now... and so the plot thickens, This would make a good Chris Nolan film if he has nothing after batman.
