I know this has been said before, but I recently did a test with some weapons and got the folowing:
Moisten Nagant = 45   M4 = 22   |   SMG = 10   MP5 = 6   |   FAMAS = 10   M14 = ##   AK47 = ##

The number is how much damage they deal to another player at close range (when shot in the balls). I preformed this test when I dealt full damage so these are correct.

My point is this: The MP5 fires slower than the SMG, deals less damage, and has 5 less ammo per clip. It is a useless weapon is is completely inferior to the SMG. I suggest that the MP5 either buffed or be removed.

Still a potent weapon if no Mac 10 is available. Keep the Mp5 and aim for headshots and not crotchshots

The idea was that they could let us who wanted new guns use them for the sake of change without being horrifically overpowered.

Every gun is balanced (like team fortress) with perks and downsides. For the MP5, the downside is low damage. The upside is amazing accuracy. It is the most accurate full auto weapon in TTT.
