Slow, unreliable, NOW PAID FOR internet

Long story short, as soon as I find out I have to upgrade my OS from 32-bit to 64-bit, my NOW PAID FOR Xfinity internet that is super fast when it's connected craps out, and I realize it's extremely unreliable for me.

On my computer, the internet connection is constantly on-and-off. When it is connected, usually it's super fast and it stays connected for days at a time but sometimes it's just on-and-off and super slow, like how right now I'm trying to torrent a Windows 7 64-bit OS with 400+ fucking seeders and the speed peaks at a goddamn 50kb/s and hovers around 0.4kb/s after a minute or so of gradually declining download speed.

And every other computer in the house is just fine with the internet connection most of the time.

It's not the $35 adapter, I refuse to believe it's the $35 adapter. I do notice when my mom closes her room door, the connection is much more unreliable for me.

Seriously, what?

Sadly, it probaly is the adapter. Try getting the drivers for it. I had a wireless adapter for one of my older machines, it was very sucky, like you described and worked as good as a USB adapter Now I use it in my new rig and I get super fast speeds, sometimes even 1mbp/s if a torrent has enough seeders! It would greatly help if you told us your specs, maybe the power supply and the motherboard.
