HEY GUYS IM TRYING TO BUILD?

Alright so, I'm pretty much sick of not being able to play games anymore. I lag severely playing god damn tetris on facebook. My shit is literally deteriorating as we speak. So I've decided to build my own.

NOTE- These are NOT gonna be bought at once. It's probably gonna take me months or I think a YEAR at max to be able to budget everything out since I do have to pay for other regular adult responsibility things.. ANYWAY, these things are the things I PICKED OUT myself without the help of proudly (since he's working) or coolz (since he left to go do drugs in a rave) so I'm entirely on my own . Note that I'm not the biggest knowledgeable tech person who can rig up something in a heartbeat. BUT FUCK, I did my best and please don't judge. Also, please note that it's almost 3am here. Any spelling or any kind of mistakes in terms of this shit, please excuse it..

I've never built anything from scratch before but I have helped upgrade things and put together a shitty ass early 2000s computer in class before, and thats pretty much all I've had in terms of experience so I wouldn't really say they counted.. x_x

Its cheaper from newegg, and its newegg. Same CPU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808&Tpk=Phenom%20II%20X4%20955%20Black%20Edition
Triple chan memory doesnt serve much purpose in the world of gaming, and you dont really need more than 8gb currently anyways (Why does everyone have 24gb...?). You can always upgrade later anyways
MemoryCheaper and it looks nicer? heh: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
Mobo, I recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767
Heatsink I recommend spending the extra 5 dollars on newegg, but that is up to you: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
Quick look of PSUs brought up this, cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371051
Optical drive. Cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151250
HDD. Well its your choice if you want to spend they few extra dollars with the whole HDD thing at the moment, but I dont really recommend green drive from WD. Compared to black they are a good bit slower to save a whooping 1 watt. Remember, only a suggestion http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185
GPU: same card, but with free game and its Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948

Those are just suggestions based on what you already have...

Sweet thanks!

FEEL FREE TO ADD MORE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ME PPL!

Oya it would probably take me about 4 months to save up for an actual OS because I wanted windows 7 Ultimate 64bit... lol
That shit is expensive man.

edit:

dude I really like your recommendation for the ram ... THANKS MAN.

Also, I've decided what my gfx is gonna be. At least Im gonna get some help from my loved ones AT LEAST WITH THE GRAPHICS CARD and get the GeForce GTX 580.. there's no way I can afford that shit on my own. So basically I'm buying everything but this.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH... LOOKED AT THE PRICE AND NEVERMIND FUCK THAT SHIT MAN... EVEN IF IM GETITNG HELP IT STILL HURTS ME DEEP DOWN THAT ITS 500 BUCKS ON NEWEGG.

You don't need an 850w power supply. A 600w will be more then enough.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

For graphics card a Radeon 6850 will run pretty much everything you throw at it. Skyrim on max etc. The 6870 Deg listed is a bit better but I don't think it's really worth the extra $$$

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

I don't know much about motherboards so I'll leave that to someone else

Also my guide :3

nah man I'm not going anywhere near 600 watts and if I'm ever gonna go down below 850 (of course it depends on the mobo I'm getting which idk yet) then it would be about 750 watts

Im changing the HDD to this

I still support the radeon 6770, thats just me though. Can always upgrade in the future but to keep cost down its quite efficient.

Oi why do you want to 580 T_T Its twice the price of the 570 for the exact same performance. Its nVidias "special kid" card, for those who have tons of money and grams of brain matter.
What toaster said about the 6950, indeed cheaper, but then there was the 550, this.

Good, 580 sucks. ^_^

600 would cut it but Id still recommend the one I suggested, simply because it allows upgrading later. 600w would be cutting it a little close if devie wants to some day throw in a second gpu. Its a plenty good PSU if devie knows no upgrading will be done though, seeing as its 20 dollars cheaper. Depends I suppose

changes:
I switched the PSU from 800 watt to 750watt.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021&Tpk=corsair%20750

ALSO, might be switching up ram from 8gb to 12gb again. For future purposes.
Still not sure about the GFX and still not sure about the mobo although we're looking at that now..
ALSO, a good friend is gonna help me out with the OS so I don't have to spend 500 dollars on that shit.
ALSO, the monitor, im buying two at once because, well its 19 inch brohams.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371051 - PSU - Cheaper and pretty much the same. c:
As for 12GB memory... Well triple channel tends to be more expensive, and offer no real increase in performance. If you ever need to upgrade your memory, buy a second set of memory for 16gb total. It would cost the same as getting 12gb. Though 8GB will last a while into the future still.
as for the mobo, Asus, and support am3, and you cant really go wrong

SO FAR THIS IS WHAT IT IS.

IT COSTS ABOUT $882.93 EXCLUDING SHIPPING AND GFX CARD.
I might be able to get my father to buy the motherboard and gfx for me in order to help out since he wanted to buy me an OEM in the beginning but I declined.

So without the motherboard and gfx (since father is paying for that) we're looking at around 750 or so including shipping. Which isnt bad at all. But I didn't count the 2nd monitor either.. If I did it would be around $830-850 including shipping. Sorry Im guesstimating the shipping.

EDIT: decided to change the monitor from two 19inches to just one 22inch monitor. and with that. the total would be $810-820 including shipping but excluding motherboard and gfx card because father still might buy that. its a little better than what it was. So yeah, everything looking good so far.

ALSO, thinking about getting this for GFX.. (CONSIDERING GETTING TWO OF THESE...BUT I DONT KNOW YET)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130660

TOTAL OF THE WHOLE THING: $1,160 including shipping. NOTE I GUESSTIMATED THE SHIPPING

TOTAL OF WHAT I'M PAYING FOR: $850 including shipping NOTE I GUESSTIMATED THE SHIPPING

TOTAL OF WHAT MY FATHER IS PAYING FOR: $360 including shipping NOTE I GUESSTIMATED THE SHIPPING

Yea. I'd say to get your hard drive LAST. Just because those floods in Thailand back in November. Save yourself a bunch. You will definitely NOT need 2 GFX Cards. I get 100 fps in Battlefield 3 @ Medium with my 560 ti HAWK. And that Hyper 212+ is a huge bitch to install, on an Intel board that is. As for Windows. Get a 64 bit OS as 32 bit only recognises up to 4GB of RAM. Just get a pirated version of it. Easy.

bottom line. save your money. purchase your items all at once, you dont wanna get a cpu just have a better one etc come out when your ready to complete yada yada and it be cheaper and better.

hotdogs pc building rules:

1. buy from newegg, it may not always be the absolute bottomline price but there are combo prices to be had sometimes and the service is awsome, i had a problem once with some stuff i bought and i got a new product plus a 30 dollar gift card for my hassel cant beat that anywhere.

2. plan your build with compatable parts. theres no point in picking a cpu if its not gonna work with your motherboard or getting a vid card that for your motherboard that has the wrong northbridge.

3. ask hotdog before you purchase he can find you something better and less expensive that you will be more pleased with 99.9% of the time.
