If I'm right, here downloading copyrighted content is okay as long as if its for educational purposes.

Still, lots of uploaders/downloaders will be fucked.

Thank you Marie for the sprite.

This somewhat.
All that shit's exaggerated to scare people. Like everything. Don't believe every word you hear.
Anyways... they're not going to go through all of the thousands of thousands of thousands of MegaUpload users and look at all the stuff they may have uploaded or downloaded to charge people. Not gonna happen.

I don't think I ever used Megaupload to upload. But I do recall downloading a few things years ago. I usually use mediafire

A home invader comes into my house every night, from midnight to 1 am and downloads copyrighted pr4wn with uTorrent, and loads it onto his flash drive!

That man... just wants people to watch his videos.

No, I highly doubt that they will be prosecuting users, if they do it would be the people that most profited off of the uploading scheme that megaupload had. It just wouldn't be financially feasible to prosecute that many people. And if they really were to prosecute "25% of the internet" that would be a political disaster for them. You simply cant prosecute that many people and expect them to be ok with it. It only takes one person in that group to be a nexus of dissent for people to form around. Now if they were prosecuting that many people, and killing anyone before they could tell anyone about it, then perhaps they have a chance of succeeding.

And Istealth, none cares how much you have downloaded here. If you had a small data center (think petabyte scale) full of stuff now that would be something to talk about, as that would be ridiculous.

Nothing will happen it is just to scare people.

And for people who still don't know what SOPA/PIPA is...

it WON'T destroy the internet. I already got enought of people saying that :

UH NU DIS WILL DESTROY THE INTERNET I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT
