New Computer Audio Help!!

Alright so I was enjoying my new PC when I realized I don't have sounds.
Core 2 duo 2.13ghz
ATI HD 5550
2 gb ram
64-bit Windows 7 Professional

I plugged in my headphones on front jack, and I also tried back jack, and still no sound.
Windows said there ain't nothing connected


Need help plox

-UPDATE-

I installed the motherboard's driver. The rear jack works well (Mic and Speaker/Headphones). Soon I figured out the front jacks only work when there is something connected on the rear jack.

I'll be using the rear jack for now. :)

ALLWAYS use the rear jacks. You will get better sound quality from direct connections to the motherboard. Using adapters from your case don't allways give you good quality sound.
