Stronghold Advice [Request]

Would it be possible for someone to create some kind of tips and tricks guide for Stronghold? I'm finding it fairly difficult to get started and I'm completely lost. Now a lot of you can troll this thread and tell me to just get on with it, but I think it'd make it a better experience if I knew what it was I was meant to be doing.

starting out on stronghold can be tough. But what i would suggest is get a team together. because there is strength in numbers.
Also watch out for those snipers in the buildings and shoot them before they get you.  and when you get a nice multiplyer try to stay out
of  sight from other player's.  This is all i can really say hope this helps :)

Although people may hate me for saying this, stronghold is a camping game. Get yourself a decent team and a good base, and you'll do well. Snipers or long-range weapons are always helpful. If youre still having trouble, if you have it play a few games of CSS.

I'm finding it cumbersome to use the tool gun - is it my mouse, or is it really a pain in the ass to get used to at first? [halp?]

Travel, try changing the sensitivity, if the problem is still about after a week or so, its most likely the mouse.
It took me a few weeks to get used to, if its the prop placement, if you press shift it snaps it into fixed places (flat vertical diagonal etc.)

it's the switching between tools - removal, prop placement, repair, etc, that is driving me nuts.

The snapping for the prop placement tool has been really helpful in placing props. :D
