is the war on terror a winnable war?

hey folks Nemi here with something ive been thinking about quite a bit lately, are these overseas wars really worth it?, and do they really make us safer. but another factor is can we win  a war against an tactic? and i know most people would see this as unpatriotic, but wouldnt it be unamerican to not voice topics like this? i mean i can see us going into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden but he was long gone when we got there so why are we still there, and why are we nation building in other countries when this country so desperately needs rebuilt.  I know some people will say if we pull out, the terrorists will win and attack us more, but even if that is true is it worth bankrupting are countries and sacrificing more American lives and bringing death to innocent civilians?

Ever. Unless someone could suddenly be a paradoxical dictator (Like a Benevolent Dictator, however that would work), then it's useless to even consider the cessation of war/fights in general.

It may take 50 wars to even get along with EVERYONE in even the slightest, with no hiccups. And I mean like, a group from a Superpower visiting another Superpower without hostilities from pretty much the entire country- it's impossible.

There will always be opinions and Bias. No matter how Unjust or Extreme.

Terrorism is defined as people who use terror to gain political power/stuff/demands.

well its not like the US forced them at gunpoint, they could have sit this one out, but since the UK was committed to the fight and as you know Canada has been in every war with the UK ever since it became its own country . it most likely went down like this.

America: Hey Canada what to go fight some terrorists?
Canada: Eh im not quite sure about it, war is pretty expensive and it could back fire easily.
