Well I've been playing a lot recently and I think the following suggestions couldn't hurt:
-Splitting players into two teams on the scoreboard, Survivor and Crow, so you know who's alive and who's dead.
-Showing in console PvP kills, so you don't just see "<Player> Suicided." when someone dies and instead see "<Player1> Killed <Player2> With <Weapon>. This would help catch RDMers and would just be nice in general.
-Have some sort of HUD so that when you push f1 or w/e key you can see a list of the recipes. This would really help new players, make it so someone doesn't have to search it every time they want to make something they don't know how to make, AND most importantly show players there IS other things you can craft besides just a bow to prevent people from just making bows and going on mass killing sprees. For example: I used to get tools and weapons then just sit there and stay alive. I found out you could make a hut and tower and such and started playing a lot more creatively.
Please post if you think these suggestions will help, and if they can be done.
ALSO, ANOTHER IMPORTANT ONE:
I want to suggest instantly killing in the beginning of a round (I'm talking literally 1 minute into the round or less) as not allowed... because some people INSTANTLY make one tool then wait for you to look away and just kill you while you're making something... It's really ridiculous, I don't even get the chance to make a campfire before someone comes up and kills me half the time :/. I'm not at all exaggerating either... so basically it renders the game pretty much unplayable unless you want to kill everyone the instant the round starts like everyone else, which isn't at all fun nor the intent of the game I don't think.

Rdming ISN'T against the rules from what I've heard, -in winter survival-
But I would imagine mass RDM would be frowned upon.

Another idea would be to make a system where for the first 5 minutes of the round players don't have the ability to kill one another so there's no RDMing (if it's not allowed -- nid clarify). After say, 45 minutes "Death Round" or something along those lines will be announced and all players will be forced to kill each other or automatically die after 15 minutes. (if you think this is unfair, a vote system could be enable to vote for death round or to vote for no killing for the first 5 minutes).

Okay, well 45 minutes is a really long time. I'd like to rephrase what Sab said. Think of it as Flood. You have Build Time and Fight Time. During Build Time there's no killing whatsoever and when the Fight Time starts players can kill each other as they please or not kill each other if they're teamed, until they're the only people left where they have to kill each other.

Yes, that was what I was saying. Pay attention to the concept though... not the little details like the time which can be changed :/.
Now that I think of it, I think it would be suitable to start it at 30 minutes into the round. People need time to build.

After very little time in WS, I agree with Jman completely.
And also the thing with RDM. Its not a rule but it does kill the fun for everyone.

It should be a rule IMO to not be allowed to just instantly get a stick and start whacking people. It completely does ruin the fun. The game mode isn't called "Whack People and Hope To Survive Winter While You're at It" anyways.
Idk.
But anyway, what about crows being able to pick up items with their beaks or feet or something?
It shouldn't be that hard to do should it?
Plus it gives something for the dead players to do.

For me, after a lot of troubles and fights in WS... i belive MASS KILLING should be bannable.
The main objetive of the game is to survive the winter... you don't need to kill everyone to do this.
on a side note:
Jman there is this weird glitch on WS that needs to be fixed.
stand in the head of an afk guy like a crow, go up, up and up and rejoin or just leave.
leaving the server will make some stuf fall from the bird and kill the guy that is under the crow that left.
if people haven't been making it on WS you can just forget it... but i remember a couple of months ago some people started to abuse of that.
this thing of the rejoining as a crow counts like a exploit of a bug/glitch?

Basically, 3 speeds. Each one can signal a different level of danger.
It increases in volume and speed.
First, being "Yeah, better go find some water/food/warmth"
Second being "Better hurry, your time is running out."
Third being "OH SHIT NIGGER YOU GUNNA DIE"

The main objetive of the game is to survive the winter... you don't need to kill everyone to do this.
In the motd it says you need to fight to survive, killing people makes the rounds shorter. You csn't just have peace and wait for people to die of cold, that would make the game INSANELY long and make it boring for the peopleto die, to fix this is developers made it so you can kill people for their supplys, thus making the rounds shorter.

Yes, the point of Winter Survival is to SURVIVE, I only kill people when other people want to join, 4+ people waiting to join? Start getting my bow ready.

I actually wanted to do something based off the drowning theme, or like the beep from pokemon when you're at critical HP.
Two alternating notes is just simpler, and less likely to have people going "STUFUTUFU".

that would be pretty badass... if this happens i would play a lot more WS.
anyways just going to drop this idea here and see what you guys think.
Now to the Russians... we all know that they're all cannibals, so why not add a karma system like in TTT? If there's less than 1/4 of players left, then the karma would not be affected, and if there's more than 1/4 of people left alive, then the karma would go down by 150 points per kill.

Another Suggestion, How about props like the wood, rock and crystal disappear when the player is not near or far away from the prop.
This will help the error like Realiable Snapshot Error.

Na IDK. That makes it very hard to scavenge for props then.

Another suggestion...
Allowing spectators a menu in F2 which shows which players are alive and which are dead. This can help both manage the server, and allow the crows the ability to help their alive team mates if they wish.

You know since everybody always goes in teams, why not make a tribe menu? Recruit tribe members for the game while you play so you can't hurt teammates until the game ends.

I would think if one tribe wins, then it will start the next round, instead of forcing the tribe to fight against each other.
It'd most likely split up like a couple people collecting resources, while a couple of people are well armed and defending. If they become the last tribe standing, the miners won't stand a chance.
It'd be best if you're working AS A TEAM, you should WIN as a team.

Nid add vote after 30 minutes into the round for a 15 minute death round where every dead player is spawned and every player gets a bow with 50 arrows?
That could be quite fun imo. Idk if it defeats the purpose of "surviving" though.
