Title: Karma System
Post by: InfamousFelix on April 26, 2011, 10:13:33 PM
Alright, So the Karma system is supposed to Prevent RDMers, But when the people who don't RDM and the people that do follow the rules    ACCIDENTLY kill an Innocent as an Innocent, Due to if the Innocent was Minging or doing something ridiculously suspicious, (Such as throwing nades/Carrying bodies, Etc.)

We all get frustrated as our karma goes back down and we have to work it back up cause some guy wants us to all have a bad day, I've heard lots of people complaining that there needs to be changes for the Karma System.

So here's my Idea, For one, Make it so that if the person is shot and the person returns fire (Being self defense, Also, Maybe being shot at if that is possible) They don't loose any karma, Or, If the person they shoot, has killed more then 2 Innocent people they don't loose Karma, Also Moving AFKs sooner, Or make it so that if you kill an AFK you don't loose karma (Could be an easier way for people to get their karma back up if the AFK is a T but it's your call. :))

There's more you could probably do but it would be some very complicated scripting (Well.. too complicated for me at least. x3)

But even if just these two things were focused on I think people would be MUCH happier. :)

Thank you for taking your time to read this and I will try and help out if I can. :)

Through a vigorous use of common sense, my karma rarely dips below 800. Might I suggest you spend more time learning the patterns of someone on the attack, versus someone on the hunt for those attackers? Think about how you would kill people; isolation, surprise maybe...

All I am saying is, the karma system is not the problem. Yes, mistakes will be made, but maybe if you stopped killing the afk's were a bit more cautious with your bullets, things would not happen as much. Maybe?

Even that being the case I generally am but Minges Intentionally do stuff to make it seem like they're T so you'll shoot them and You'll loose Karma, These are the other issues I'm trying to tackle, How are you going to keep people in the server if they keep getting ticked off cause their karma is 250 and they can't kill anybody? It just frustrates people and I've also been seeing it more and more lately.

I Hardly ever kill AFKs cause I'd rather not take the risk, I just threw that in there cause there's always AFKs at night time. >.<

My point is though, This would help some considering one of the methods Minges use is they shoot you to get you to RDM them and loose your Karma.

And Shepards we shall be
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

I love that quote Btw Did you get it from The Boondock Saints?

with reference to the quote, yes. yes i did. :3

and this is why you just let them kill you. Their karma goes down, and yours will go up. sometimes, you just have to take the death.

Poeple said that the karma system got an error which when you didn't play TTT for too long, your karma system will reset to 800, is that true or a bug or an error?

Don't shoot anyone who is acting like a minge or a traitor, unless hes attacking you.
If someone is shooting you for no or not a very good reason expect him to be traitor and fire back.
Don't trust others too much even the detective, think with YOUR head.

If it happens that you lose a lot of karma which does and will happen then you're going to
have spend 10 - 60 minutes taking it back. It mostly depends on you.

Karma system if fine.

I just think that if you have hit a T within the last 5 seconds than if you hit an inno it isn't karmable.
This would be helpful when theres a group and the T is just jumping around spraying, I kill him but accidently kill someone else.
