Instead of having the basic 10/30/8 ammo increments, wouldn't it be better if the ammo regenerated based on the gun?

As in, 1 clip per minute. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but in lua, can't you use an else if statement per weapon in the regen script to determine how much bullets to add in?

It might take awhile with all of the guns in zs, probably if enough people worked on 1 type of gun, we could get this finished. It feels bad man when you're out of ammo on your P90, to only have it regenerate with 30 more bullets instead of 50. Same with the peashooter and other weapons that go past the 30+ bullet limit.

+1 if you got peaceshooter you will use more ammo as with battleaxe but battleaxe is stronger

Its a good idea but I don't think that it should be applied for all the guns, like shotguns or tiny slug

Prox has a very good point.
This should not apply for all shotguns and cade kits.

I think it should probably stay like 2 bullets for certain weapons such as shotguns, they're too OP

just get the AmmoRegen to give you ammunition based on the clipsize and ammo type. at the moment, it gives you a set amount depending on what ammo type the weapon that you're holding has. we can either put all of the ClipSizes to whatever their ammo regen is, or do that.

so this works on the guns that you earn... but what happens with the guns that you find on the map?

That's why there're ammo crates on some maps.
And really it's very annoying when you out of ammo at boomstick.

some maps doesn't got ammo crates, but you still get ammo if it is a smg, handgun or shotgun

Did you read the op? lol

The op says that you get ammo for ammo type, and this is unfair, because if you get a boomstick getting 7 from ammo reegen is kinda unfair.

so the idea is that you get ammo for the gun, not for the gun type.

and my big question that no one have answered yet,

If you find a gun in the map, how will you get ammo for that gun?

I don't think soo,

the op says that it would work on the guns you earn... so if you find a shotgun that you don't earn with kills in one map, you couldn't regenerate the ammo.

Seems redundant. Lets say I have a boomstick, and lets say I have an Annabelle. Just before the ammo regen time, I switch to my Annabelle and get 8 shots of ammo, and continue shooting with my boomstick.

As for weapons you find on the map. I will assume you are talking about a SMG, since they use SWEP.Primary.Ammo = "smg1" they will regen just like the automatics. However if they changed it be based on guns, coolz would have to add a custom regen for the smg1.

What I meant by regen was that instead of those generic amounts, every regen would grant you 1 or 2 magazines for your equipped weapon.  Example:

You have out your P228(Peashooter) that has 18 bullets per full mag
Ammo regen time comes
You get another 18 bullets which is the equivalent of a full mag

Same with other weapons, but different mag variables.
