Il start this formally. Hello my name is Daniel and I have had an idea for the gamemode deathrun.

I think to enhance the experience and of course the visual factor of the gamemode it might be interesting to include goremod with the deathrun gamemode. This would play well to the traps which crush and for players falling great heights. I was told to post this to the forum as an idea by .:RND`=-  {RM} StartedBullet who also agrees it would be a good idea.

I hope you can consider this as I think it would be a great addition and help put your server above the other deathrun servers on gmod!

What more information can I give. It hasnt been done before but can be easily implemented as the code is already available.
If you don't know what gore mod is then here is a video link

(not my video but shows how it could work in the gamemode)

I think it will make the gamemode more entertaining certainly to watch someone's body get splatted up the wall right infront of you. It would add realism to spike traps, crushing traps, if someone falls a great distance or gets swiped by a spinning trap.

It runs clientside not serverside so no lag for the server :)

It might also be worth adding a lua menu to the f3 or f4 key to allow the client to disable the goremod. (the command for which I think is goremod_enabled 1 or 0)

Oh, this lol. Another build server I play on used this mod for the death animation of slaying.

Its nice, but it lags a lot to the client if tons of people are dying constantly.

To reduce client lag perhaps tweak the code to show less gibs and less gore per player but still enough to make it enjoyable to watch?

Hey StartedBullet. The gibs dont come in parts like the head or whatever they all look like livers to be fair. 2 per player with a few strands of blood coming off them and the squishy blood that comes from them would be enough not to lag the server. I can experiment with the lua if people wish to try out lag when using less gibs and blood on multiple deaths?

I would contact coolzeldad, he is in charge of the *his* servers. I wonder if you can turn the gibs into prop_details after about 15sec. That would prevent alot of lag.

Lol true,and make it ON by default but make an option at F3 and make a chat message when u enter to warn players that it is Enabled and to disable u need to pres (key here) and uncheck Goremod (or whatever) kthnx  ;)

If youre going to do that then make a option to FULLY disable it and make it then avaible for all servers (some people like one of my friends got already some laggs and with Goremod  he got laggs like hell  that will cause his Garrysmod crash)
