Post by: [Valor]iPounce on June 09, 2013, 12:43:47 AM
UPDATED 07/13/13
Since coolz is busy at improving the servers and shits, Let's put this aside as our future reference as they finish their projects but I'm still going to continue updating this mainly for discussions. Also since I'm busy at school, You guys suggest more so we can organize them

Like what the title says, How about we modify the ZS 3.0 to like 2.0. Let's begin with on what they implemented in 3.0

Implemented Stuff inn 3.0, If you haven't played the New ZS: ( What I noticed, if I missed something please do tell )
Spoiler: Implemented Stuff (click to show/hide)

The New Complete ZS 3.0 Weapons:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After spending my last days of summer on ZS I've seen zombies always win because:

- Some retards going outside the cade and try to get more points, then get stuck on the cade while Phasing through because zombies is hitting them
- Stacking of Nightmare and other Bosses
- Pile of shit cade
- No one bought an Arsenal crate
- No one bought Carpenter's Hammer
- Retarded map
- Can't shoot through the cade
and other reasons that I haven't encountered

Since some of you doesn't want the New ZS and the Old ZS. Let's try to make a modified 3.0

Spoiler: Problems (click to show/hide)
To be Continued next week

Wasn't there already a thread like this?
We talked about making it similar to Kurtis's ZS and the thread just died.

Anyway,I support this idea.

I support this, but we should aim for attracting new players rather than gameplay. Things like hat stores, achievements, objective maps -- something that is not too mind-numbing for the rest of us yet can hold a "filler" player-base. I'm surprised to say this but I'd rather deal with little kids and troublemakers on a server than to constantly play with the same people.

I agree with this for the most part, however I personally thing we'd have a better time attracting new players if we found some new gamemodes. The same ones are nice and all, but what I think we really need is some fresh material.

I think ZS 3.0 has a hat store that you buy things from the points you earn

Isn't it glitched or something when your nightmare and you've eaten 4+ brains you wont get redeemed? or is it supposed to be like that?

You can't redeem as a boss zombie when you ate 4 brains

I agree with this for the most part, however I personally thing we'd have a better time attracting new players if we found some new gamemodes.

We went from
-Zombie Survival
-Winter Survival
-Flood
-Sledbuild
-Fretta
-TTT
-Wirebuild
-Stronghold

Where some rotated out, etc, to now, where it's just:
-Zombie Survival
-TTT
-Wirebuild
-Stronghold

A 50% decrease in the variety we had here even a year ago.

IMO, maybe trying to implement shops, etc could be done in conjunction with adding old servers that proved popular AND with finding NEW stuff - the classics still attract [Sledbuild, Fretta, etc] - and there are new gamemodes that are really fun that we should do as well to keep things stale, but ultimately I think it'd be cool if going back up 50% in the variety we had - and it would be a good part of the equation [plus it could help get ppl on Stronghold... damn, I MISS STRONGHOLD ND NOBODY IS EVER ON! >_<.

Now's the time to get people on, make these changes, IMO - summer vacation, little kids through late teens and early-mid 20s - high, middle, school, even college students
with a lot more time for gaming than during the academic year.

I think that the reason for that is the minecraft server which apparently uses a lot of resources and fretta was broken by the countless gmod updates and there is only a private version of it now or something like that.

I'm ok with achievements because it courages goals but hats no.

this isn't garry fortress 2.

If it were Garry Fortress 2, we would have Coolz Crates and 99999999999 hats.
And you had to buy them with real money.
Or randomly unlock them.

Honestly, the only reason I ever played ZS was because zombies had such shitty hitboxes hit-detection that it was easy enough to melee them at early rounds. It's a race for the later rounds. Now zombies are way more threatening and it just don't have the same feeling anymore.

Old ZS was really self-orientated and glitchy. That's why I had the most fun there. RIP skycades

We could always change the Aegis Barricade Kit into the old one instead of the new one but I don't think that it'll be phasable since the Plank is just like uhh prop_something entity like that. Also we could remove the damage/second when you're standing on a prop.

I wasn't trying to change the new ZS. I just don't like it at all. There's really no way to change it and still have it right and fair. New ZS does really well technically and at least looks nice. lol
It's just not skill orientated anymore.

I don't really understand what you mean with not skill orientated. Do you mean how Zombies hit can hit without locking his crosshair on you or something else?

The new Zs is not any less skill orientated then the old one. By the way, sky cading is not allowed.

Yes, I wrote it a little bit off.
What I meant by that was you are being awarded more for shooting rather than using a melee weapon. Since a single zombie can do a lot of damage easier now, there's really no point taking the risk and trying to go with melee. That's just not my thing.
