I have a fear of needles, but besides that I think flu shots are completely stupid. My boyfriend got one and still caught the flu. Also, you can get the flu from the shot because they're basically taking bits of the virus and stickin it up your blood stream.
I haven't had the flu shot in about 3 or 4 years and I've only caught the flu once during those years.

I'm going to have to disagree that the vaccines are stupid. They're a proven method to help prevent the illness, in both severity and spread.

And yes, that's how your body learns to fight the virus.

And your immune system is different, but there can always be new strains, stronger virus...es, and good old fashioned not being able to fight it off.

Not necessarily. I have a strict diet of 4 raw meals and 1 cooked a day and go to the gym frequently, so I just naturally fight off pretty much anything.
It's only within the last century that people as a whole started to get fat and pudgy and catch illness. Cancer has gone up because of all the bad things that people eat as well. Of course, I'm not saying any of those things are completely avoidable, but they are to some degree

Which is a different story. You're arguing against your own vaccination, while I am arguing for vaccinations for others. We should stop lol

I think where I was going with that, is the more healthy the less its needed?
But yes, let's keep the happiness going

I think it depends on your immune system.

For breakfast I have a smoothie made of organic greens and fruit
Second breakfast is almond milk and a bowl of fruit
Lunch is a salad with 50/50 spinach and baby greens mix, along with whatever veggies are in season
Second lunch is usually tea and basically whatever veggies and fruit I want. I might also scramble some eggs that are from one of my friends(they have chickens) for extra protein and fat if I did a lot that day.
Dinner is whatever I want, though if it's a week day I usually eat a turkey or a veggie burger with lots and lots of condiments :)

Because I have a lot of meals, I eat way smaller portions and usually have to split meals with people if I go out for dinner.

I don't like getting shots just as much as the next guy, but I can say that they are definitely necessary. It's great protection and even though shots suck, I'd rather have a numbing pain for a few days then be sick with the flu.
It's different for everyone and how healthy their immune systems are.  Basically how I understand how the vaccine works:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I may be wrong in some aspects, but this is how I learned it (as much as I remember) and my amateur view on understanding vaccines.
But I mean, if you have a healthy body and healthy Immune system, that's probably why you don't get sick that much. Shots are just extra protection.

This is pretty much what I was getting at earlier.
Though now that I think about it, children should always have flu shots because they have more of a chance to get sick since they would be constantly exposed to it at school and such things.

Yes, now if only we could a establish a way to vaccinate without using the needle, so there wouldn't be much discouragement.

I'm all for vaccines and all as long as they aren't one of those "Test" ones you hear about on the news.

Only thing that kind of annoys me is how we get them at school, and they rush to get everyone through with it all, so sometimes you get the injection done poorly and it hurts for the next few days.

I definitely agree with vaccines. They have been proven effective; such as completely wiping smallpox off the planet (except for in laboratories and bio-weapons).

Meningitis (nervous system infection) is a very important vaccine to get, it acts like a cold, and can kill you in less than a day. If it doesn't kill you it almost always leaves you with a major debilitating impairment.

The flu shot might not be necessary for healthy people, but if you have a lot of stress in your life I would highly recommend getting it. Stress greatly weakens your immune system.

Also, in my hometown we are one of the few places in the nation that has to pump water uphill, at my house we use an underground water tank, and we have a pump in our basement to pressurize the water. A water truck comes by once every 2 weeks and fills the water. It's nice since the water doesn't have to travel through the city pipes.

I don't think there are any water towers in Alaska, I think the necessity of heating the pipes in the winter makes them more costly than other methods. Also you would need to build it on bedrock, as regular ground could heave when the ground freezes/thaws.

Is there any seafood in that diet?
I like spinach, almond milk is ok, but I like Ricemilk substantially more. Hemp milk works great for baking.
I don't think I could ever eat that small of breakfasts, I tend to each a larger breakfast, small/moderate lunch, and moderate sized dinner.

My favorite breakfasts are the "kitchen sink" kind of meals. (breakfast burritos, scrambles, omlets, etc.)

You basically open the fridge, and take out anything that would go good in it, (onion, broccoli, mushrooms, bell peppers, tacos, spaghetti, salmon, halibut, crab, etc. (I usually add all the veggies, and one or two "Main Items") and if there is no meats, I usually add sausage or bacon (I prefer moose sausage).
You dice up those ingredients, and saute them with a bit of spices added. (I like Mrs. Dash's Garlic and Herb spice, goes great in any kind of eggs/seafood)

Then you make your omlet/scramble/burrito, add a bit of cheese, and voila. Pretty much turns out amazing every time.

I usually don't eat seafood as I have an allergy to about half of it.
The breakfast smoothie actually fills me up better than any of my other meals because it's so full of everything.
As for hemp milk, I try not to have things like that in the house because my boyfriend misses it and he's currently in the military. So he can't consume anything with hemp in it :(
I've never had moose, but it sounds amazing. And that omelette sounds amazing as well! Def have to try it this weekend :)

The reason why most of my food is raw is you lose over half of the enzymes and proteins and all the good stuff when you cook food, hence one cooked meal a day. You're supposed to have like 50% of your calorie intake be raw food, I just kinda went extreme into it ^^

Also, vitamins. I take 2 different types of vitamins a day and eat vitamin c chews like candy :)

I don't mind getting needles/shots every so often its got a sharp pain to it but I don't really care, the only annoying thing I hate about it is that after getting the needle I feel like
I can actually feel the medicine running through my arm :c one guy fainted and another cried a lot.

The raw food thing is not always the case, in some cases cooking the food converts some of the enzymes and proteins into more easily digestible forms. Cooking veggies for the most part removes a good portion of its vitamin content. There honestly isn't a rule that applies for everything food wise. Which makes stuff like this a bit difficult, as pretty much everyone has different opinions on what is "best" for you.

Pretty much stick to whatever works with your body the best, and try new things every once in a while.

Moose is pretty awesome, its extremely lean meat, and has a bit of a spiciness to it. Plus up here, it's pretty much free other than the cost of gas, and time it took you to hunt it. The hard part is actually succeeding in hunting one, and then butchering it afterwards.

Vitamin supplements are good, though careful with eating too much of them. Extra just goes to coloring your pee yellow, and long term extreme amounts can damage your kidneys. I am a fan of everything in moderation. I tend to stick with just Vitamin C, and Vitamin D, as in the winter I don't get all the much sunlight up here.

Also Hemp milk (and other hemp food products, though I might still stay away from poppy seeds) is made from a different species of cannabis plant, and doesn't contain any THC, so it should cause any problems with drug tests if that's the reason your boyfriend cant have it. I would recommend doing a bit more research on your own to double check, but it should be just fine.

Oh yes, but I meant that the whole raw thing to be applied to fruits and veggies. Pretty much the only cooked veggie I eat anymore is some french fries every once in a while.
Oh, I'd love to try moose one day. I used to be able to get venison like that in Virginia.
I always get sun burned and have pretty pale skin, so I feel you on the vitamin thing. I agree with the moderation, but my vitamin c chews are what I look forward to at the end of the day!
And even if it doesn't show, he's still not allowed to consume anything with hemp at all. I think it's just because of it being run by the feds? I'm not sure.

I looked into it, looks like there is a military regulation pretty much prohibiting the consumption of foods containing hemp seeds. That is pretty typical for the military though, there are a good amount of rules in the military that don't quite follow logic, and are more there simply because that's the way it's been.

Technically you could drink hemp milk and be fine, though with how strict things about that are in the military; it probably isn't worth the risk.

A friend had meningitis a year or 2 ago. I have no idea how he got out of it without any problems.

Also, I don't trust too much vaccines so I just get the most important ones.

I actually don't mind shots at all. 90% of them I don't even feel and I barely get them anyway. I barely become sick for more than a day (once a year or two years) and when I do then it's usually just a bit of cold with minor headaches which is also rare for me.

What I dislike though, is blood tests. Don't know why, but every time I think about it or touch the area between my bicep and forearm, I feel a bit dizzy and nauseous. I think it was because my first time was done by an angry nurse that sucked my blood hard and I felt like I was going to faint lol. Second time I've done it, near the end, I started feeling dizzy, thought it's ok, but then I saw everything black and I heard a ringing sound. I lied down and took a rest, it might've been because I waited for like 15 mins and kept thinking about it lol. It's also not because of the needle, because it barely hurts.

I used to not like shots, however that changed because well, I just got over it lol. I am not really afraid of any sort of medical treatment, whether it be shots, or a trip to the dentist. I always looked at, it's these peoples job to try to make us feel better, so I trust physicians a lot, more or less. I always like to hope they have the best intentions in mind.

I think the only food I can say I dislike to the point of me just refusing to eat it is coconut, I absolutely despise it.; I've tried every form of it and I just can not stand the taste or smell, that's the same with plain honey
THIS SO MUCH
I've never met someone who doesn't like coconut as much as me! I hate the drinks, the flakes, the actual thing, even the smell and flavor makes me nauseous. I used to hate plain honey, but I heard a few years ago that it makes your allergies better if it's local so I started eating/drinking it whenever I could. I like it better when it's really thick and less processed.

But... I love coconut ;-;

Also, I haven't had a flu shot in 4 years. Never really cared about the shots, had a very large needle in my mouth about a month ago. It hurt somewhat, but it was better than feeling a large drill do the same thing.

And I've been around the sickest people you could imagine every other day for the last month and a half. I've been fine so far... unless really the virus/es I do have are super dormant for some reason and not giving me symptoms. So I'm figuring for the most part I don't need a shot unless we've got another super-pandemic on our hands.

Yup.  With the flu running rampant right now, it's sort of everyone's responsibility to get a flu shot so they don't get infected and spread it to even more people.

earlier i went to get a flu shot at the hospital, but they ran out

then i went to the cvs to get one, but you have to be 18+ to get one.

i went to the rite aid, they were also out, but it doesnt matter because you have to be over 18 to get one

i guess they are scared of being sued or something
