Right. Let me vent here a bit.
I'm not leaving the community, nor am I trying to avoid doing my part around here. For the last couple weeks, I've been falling behind on schoolwork, and have been having a good bit of family problems. Becuase of that, I'm not able to help out as much in the community (reports, applications, bans, whatever). I tried to avoid it, but right now, I'm in a SHTF situation and need to seriously just focus on my work.
I'm not using that as a cop-out. Far from it. I still want to be active and be a part of the community, but this takes precedent over it.
The purpose of this thread is to ask you guys what you'd prefer I do. At the moment, I'm really the last completely active admin on the forums, and have been pretty much handling reports/promotions/etc on my own.
My idea was to pick one or two VIP's to help handle reports by approving/denying them for me when I can't. Basically, they'd be in charge of reviewing evidence/giving out a final verdict then just message me to handle out the actual ban and lock/move the thread. It's far less work on my end and only takes a couple seconds to do, which is what I really do need at this point.
What I wanted to know was if you guys were okay with this idea, and if so, who you'd prefer be doing this.

Because a demotion for inactivity is absolutely pointless.
And I agree with Deacon and Alkaline. Unit too, maybe. There's been a few situations where I feel he's a bit quick to jump the gun though.

Anyways, I can't say that I feel comfortable with every VIP doing this. I'd rather have two or three individuals I personally know really well and trust.

I told you, Snivy, if you needed help you just had to ask me.
Anyways, I actually have a bit too much time on my hands, so I'd be glad to help out with the promotions/reports. That is unless if a ton of people want to do it instead.
Also, may I suggest we add some kind of rank which is like admin, but for the forums only? I could see people like Deacon benefiting from this feature if it would be added.

The word you're looking for is global moderator.
And the issue with that is that we don't really have any forum issues. Most of it is relating to reports/applications, which need admin intervention to be completed (eg; Reports need to be entered into sourcebans, and apps need to be promoted in-game by an admin).

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the time you have dedicated to the reports, promotions, bans, and everything.
I hate to see someone overburdened and wouldn't wish that upon you so don't feel any obligation.
If things do get really built up and there's no one really able to do it I will go through periodically.
However it's proving really difficult to do so as the new servers need to be transitioned.

At this point I do not see a single reason of why there shouldn't be any admin promotions. Without Snivy, there is no one to take care of reports, and I personally think the idea of giving some of the VIPs more power over others is terrible. If they are trusted enough to take care of the reports, then why can't they just simply be promoted to admins? Forums is not the only place where admins are needed either, in fact, they are much more necessary in game since it is much easier to deal with the trouble right here right now, other then looking at a report, besides every rule violation will never be reported. Now with Snivy not being able to play(assuming he won't have time) the only admin that still plays on the servers is Sabb and even if he would dedicate all of his play time just for the servers, it wouldn't be enough. This community needs new admin promotions as never before, so Coolz, I would like to encourage you to act now.

why i don't touch report is, its so many reports about TTT and i don't play TTT. i only plays sledbuild or wirebuild, or zombie survival.
so i'm not pro at TTT rules and i was thinking if i touch reports about like RDM, etc is making trouble...
and i try touch regs, but i heard not approving right now? because server not back?
i'm trying find something i can help but i think i'm super bad admin right now :(

The servers have been back for awhile now, so Regular applications and such are all back up.

I agree, we've had more VIP's playing on the servers then we have in awhile. Maybe since the Gmod 13 was released, maybe we will get new members too, along with more activity.
Also I know I'm a tad late, but if I can be of assistance to you Snivy, or anyone for that matter, feel free to ask. I know I don't do much, but I'd jump at the opportunity to actually fulfill the responsibilities I have be entrusted with as a VIP...

VIP's are not getting more power over others. I'm still the one giving out bans.
All they'd be doing is helping me by reviewing evidence and basically going "Yeah, he needs to be banned" or not, since loading up demos and stuff for 20+ reports would take hours for me to do alone.
The reason why I was asking was becuase I wanted to see if people agreed on who they'd feel most comfortable doing this. I already decided on Deacon, and Alkaline if he's able/willing. Unit too, maybe.

You contradict your self. You want to select a few VIPs out of everyone which means that those few selected get more authority over the others since they are allowed to make judgement on the reports and others don't. Instead of this, why can't those few selected people just be promoted to admin? As I have already said, we need more admins, especially in-game, and if they are trusted to handle reports, then I think they would do great as admins, especially now.
I also feel disappointed that I'm not being considered as one of those who could help approve reports, after all, I keep making reports on a daily basis and I made a whole rule list mostly on my own. Is there something that I need to improve?

Nobody is getting more authority. I'm the one actually banning people.
The reason why I only want to select a couple people is because I don't like some of the other VIP's decision making skills. I'm only picking people who I personally trust. The only purpose of this thread was to see if others had a problem with that, which so far, you're the only one.

Because I don't control who gets promoted to admin, and the ones that I do want promoted, I've already voted for them and given them my support.

Think about it this way, if I ask one (A) of two children (A and B) to bring me my keys from another room, does that mean one has more power than the other because he's tasked with bringing me my keys? I'm only choosing A because he's more reliable than B, and I'll probably get my keys back without a problem. If I asked B to do it, then I'd probably wait longer or never see my keys again.
If we threw the equivalent of admin in this scenario, not only would I be asking the child to bring me my keys, they'd also be going to the car, starting the ignition, and driving off.
You're comparing a full privilege to a simple favor. They're not getting admin, nor do they have any sort of admin power. They're only going over evidence and confirming weather or not it's legitimate. That's it.

I won't lie, I do think so, but it's just simply what I think, and it shouldn't matter much, however I don't or don't try to end arguments with that, unless it would be relevant.

Actually, I'm not. Now about the attitude, you're gonna have to be more specific since I simply don't understand what you mean and how could I improve it. If it's because of how I act in TS3, then I want to say, that I don't want to offend anyone, I'm just joking around because there I can put rule/ban/etc things behind and just relax and have a good time. When it comes to server/community related problems, I am just as serious as I can be careless.

I often put things like"I think/believe/etc not without a reason. I do that to imply that what I'm saying is an opinion, however one thing I know for a fact is that I know my self better then anyone else does.

I actually have to agree with Prox on this point.
You may be the one giving out the bans but those certain VIPs are the ones issuing the bans IE: they say who gets ban and who doesn't. Unless you're planning to glance over the reports then all you're doing is reading "approved/denied" and banning or not on those VIPs words. Which means the VIP had full control over that report.

Also i havent really noticed the activity of Vips (When the servers were up) the only ones i really saw were Unit, Dale, Deacon and I. just when ive been on.
Also i just finished soccer we had our last game yesterday, our season is over so i get about an extra 3-4 hours to play/ manage things if needed.

I can get online only at the very fist hours of servers coming online which is about 10PM(GMT+2). I used to be the only VIP on at that time, now I encounter more.
