Intel I7 980X will decode/render stuff faster and better, so if you're a pro in graphics/it's your job, I7 980X will be WAAAAYYYY better than your AMD, it also saves time =D
Maybe it's expensive, but for the right people it's worth it.

Well if you look at it at a consumer wise youll think twice.
Intel 980x - $1000 US
Amd x6 - $300 US

Without a doubt the 980x is dam fast. But its just 3 times more expensive.
