I use:
foobar2000 when listening to mp3,FLAC, and that kind.
XMPlayer for midis and obscure formats such as XM,IT,MOD,S3M and stuff. (Chiptunes are awesome!)
-
foobar is good
I use winamp though with minimal things installed.. like nothing :D
Plays music nice and okay memory usage.
Good visualizer :D

I used iTunes. Then I heard renegades use Winamp so I tried it. That crap crashed on me like every time and used like twice the resources of iTunes on my PC so i just went back...
-
i use an xfire mod that plays music in game from a file or website
-
I remember trying Winamp, couldn't get used to it, it's pretty popular though (I think).
-
kantaris ^^ plays EVERY file, gets updated frequently, has got the ability to find subtitles for movies (lawlz, pirating ftw!!!)

MPlayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html)
Kind of a brute force media player. This thing is amazing. Simple command line player with no annoying GUI to screw around with. It will play corrupted media files, incomplete downloads, as well as any file type I throw at it (including most obscure proprietary file types!).
VLC is another good one with a GUI. Winamp is cool for the visualizations too but I'm pretty sure they've started bundling some nasty code in there the last few years..

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema whit K-Lite codec Pack this play all music and video!
