i downloaded myine using scrds and it works fine lol
meh, peetah, sanders and sheeps were playing lol
we almost finished but sanders was like last marine for like 5 min
it was awesomely fun but its 3rd person overview

and put it in first person LOL
it was stupid

Well the addon installer needs admin access on vista...
Since I got it when I was only 13, my parents didn't give me admin access when we first got it, and I'm to lazy to ask them for it :-[

asw_controls 0 in server console and
asw_hide_marine 1 in console i think

Yea, you can play in good first person, but it actually makes the game harder, makes it impossible to hack (cant move your mouse), and makes u get no exp.
Just wait for a first person addon.

i found some cmds on the web that lets you change the pitch | yaw | roll of the cam and the distance, but it seems the cam is locked on the targeting circle and not on the marine :(

Who ever is intrested in making maps for it try out tile gen, type "asw_tilegen" in the console with sv cheats enabled, it's an easy way of making maps.

I rdy made a map for it in alien sdk, its nothing major but its good way to test how they ai does with corners.
