Title: Trouble in Terrorist Town Formal Rules
Post by: Sanders on May 13, 2010, 09:19:24 AM
What is allowed and what is not allowed?

NOT ALLOWED

1. Malice RDM (aka target RDM, single RDM, MUST BE COMMITED MORE THAN ONCE)
2. Pre round prop kill
3. In round prop kill
4. Traitors must get first blood. Killing as an innocent before any body is found is bad.
5. Killing a detective as innocent, UNPROVOKED is votekickable.
6. Killing or giving away the identity of a fellow traitor is also VOTEBANNABLE!
7. Killing more than 6 people as innocent is excessive, votekick worthy if it continues.

REMINDER: WARN PERSON BEFORE YOU VOTEKICK OR VOTEBAN THEM.

REMINDER: DON'T BAN FOR REASONS YOU MAKE UP.

Last update (7/21/10): cleaned stuff up, added excessive rdm rule

My rules:

RDM'ing is allowed cause I do it and as I have said over 9000 times, IT'S THE REASON WE HAVE FUCKING KARMA!
Prop killing = insta-15 min ban if I catch anyone doing it
RDM'ing as detective I just RDM them/blow them up

ya thats basicly it

I'm gonna add one.
Terrorists must get first blood. Ever been prop killed or rdmed before you even get a chance at a good kill? It sucks man.

Hate to say it but thats the problem. How do you expect people to play by the rules, when the Admins themselfs break the rules?

In order for poeple to follow your rules you must set a good example and follow them yourself.

Might I add a more serious punishment for revenge RDM if continued for more then 1 round?
1 round = kick
2+ rounds (nobody does it first/second time) = ban
Just an idea?

WE NEED RDM TO BE KICKABLE karma is there to assist but massive rdm should never be tolorate... or at least make the server auto ban people with 10 karma. because if you have that little karma you will must mass rdm

How about no.

The above won't happen as it interferes with alot of the gameplay and the people with 10 karma can just be killed with any drawbacks.

mass rdm is bannable...
though imo people who scream micspam shit like "cock sucker" loudly shud be banned if they make one obvious rdm... cause they will jsut rdm more, and do we really want the biggest assholes in gmod to play on our servers?

The reason these things are not bannable is because they are subjective. Just because you think someone is micspamming, doesnt mean they need to get banned for killing someone who is not a traitor.

And mass rdm is not bannable. What does "mass" even mean. 5? 10? 15?

Either way, karma will take care of it.

it takes care until after game, then they do again, and then they keep shooting. people will abn wether admins say not to, but rdm'ers hide behind the "you lose respected" thing

You arent understanding what im trying to get at. If you were an admin would you ban every innocent person who killed another innocent?

=.= when they end the game on their own terms, and then try doing it again with low karma (but fail) if they arnt kicked then they do yet again next round, all the while screaming "ima fuck you up nigger" into the mic

Until they have 10-180 karma, which causes them to make nearly no damage at all.
And don't say "BUT THEY JUST HURT PEOPLE", that causes your karma to go down too.

Yo sanders hey I was thinking...

Does malice RDM include RDMing like 3+ or so people for no reason?
We were on just today and this guy El Senor (no tilde fyi) killed like 6 people no reason and ended the round >.<
Some people thought it was funny (namely ledjohnny >.>), but everyone else was pissed.

Also, some other things. If anyone attempts to propkill, is that kickable?
If someone does some shit like attack the detective/fellow traitor/lots of people down to Near Death for no reason, but not killing them.

I'm just saying this because if we nail down the rules really hard then people will most likely just avoid them while still being dicks.

Malice rdm is not really rdm. It means killing someone specifically for a personal reason (ie "I HAET U" or "BISH KEEL ME LAST ROUND")

Attempted propkill is iffy. Since they havent actually done anything i dont think so. You need to wait till they succeed to ban them.

If someone attacks you when you are det, kill them (unless they are also det). If a fellow traitor attacks you without explanation,, and it is not from an AOE attack (such as c4 or nade),  and it is significant (ie >50 dmg), you can kick them.

Ive added an addendum for "excessive rdm" since it seems it pisses a lot of people off. Suggestions as to the definition of "excessive" are welcome.

Also cleaned all that stuff up from before these became the de facto rules. Nobody really cares for the reasoning nowadays.
