Hey, I have a question and need help as well..
What format is the best for a spray?
My spray won't show at all for some reason..
But I can see it.
Its 256x256 and a btmap image. I tried jpeg but its fail as well.
Why won't it show ? D:
I put it in my screenshot folder and I just grabbed it from there.
I mean I can see it perfectly fine but other people can't.
Although some people are able to see it but not that many.
So what should I do?

Open it. Resize it to 256x256. Save as *namehere* in .jpg . Open GMod. Import it. Choose it. Enter server. ????. Profit.

There are people that don't allow content to be downloaded from the server, so they can't see your spray cause they fail, not you =D

Like smasters said, he can see other peoples but not mine..
like 99% of people CAN'T see mine even though they can see other peoples.
and theres that 1% who can...

Make eure that When you Save it you Save As targa 32 Bit.

I had the same problem. You need to put your spray image in this folder. -->
C:/program files/steam/steamapps/(YOURUSERNAME)/garrysmod/garrysmod/materials/VGUI/logos/UI

Not rly, hes right about the .vtf
If you Convert the image to .vtf its (almost) always supported.
With VTFEdit you can do this, its free and no virusses.
Get it here: http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178 (http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178)
After editting, set it here C:/program files/steam/steamapps/(YOURUSERNAME)/garrysmod/garrysmod/materials/VGUI/logos/UI

thanks I knew how to convert it to .vtf but No idea how to edit it as one. Thanks for that.
I did all of it now hopefully it works in game.

One person was able to see it.
The rest, well they remained the same.
Would it make a difference if its .vmf or does it really have to be .vtf ?
Or should I wait....
Maybe I should restart steam..

.vmf is valve material file and is not a picture but a text block :P
mine always works with .vtf
I dont know why others cant see it :P

**It was originally a jpg ( didnt work ) then I converted it to btmap ( didnt work ) then I finally converted it to .vtf

**It does not. It's your normal 256x256 good 'ol square.

More and more people are now able to see it.
But I am still unsure about others.
I'm almost certain that they can see it.
But some may not. I don't know.
They don't really respond to me when I ask.

Some people just cant see it cus they alt+tab or somethin, You have to download in-game automaticly to see it.

I'm surprised this hasnt been locked yet.
But I resort back to this thread because I find myself in the same situation once again.
If problem persists, I will notify.
I may able to fix this myself.

Bitmap doesnt work at all in gmod. Jpeg works for me but if not for you try .tga...
