Think about it.

Yes, Technology. But what about Politics? Society? Economy? Even Religion (and the crazy cults within)? I doubt 72% of the human population is above surfing youtube and Twitter and Facebook et al on a shiny new rectangle. I doubt almost anyone will be smart enough to utilize all those functions without being born into it, like most of us were born into the information age, thus, We're not afraid of the Computer.

What about war? People said the future would be greener.

We bombed ourselves with the power of the sun, killed large masses of our own, and still can't solve a simple energy crisis in the making. And fuck me, it's 2011 now, not 1998.

Still don't have my magical flying car. Doubt we can craft all that fancy shit in 3 - 4 years.

If we do, war is abolished, Everyone's Holding Hands, Everyone's a harmless Friendly Meekling, 3/4ths of Diseases are gone, and every 2 year old knows how to work Simple Algebra. It'll be a fucking dandly little fucking place with rainbows and puppies and tiny, non-harmless lasers.

Maybe I'm just in a piss mood today.

Well, no. It's not the question of whether technology will advance, because it will, it's whether we actually use it. We accept that eletronics have revolutionized because we all see it on a day-to-day basis, e.g ipods. Why? Because its cheap so the majority of people can afford it. (relatively)

The big, chunky, cars have gone under huge changes too, but we don't see it in the same scale because many people today still use 1995 Corollas. (Does anyone still use a Commodore 64?)

So ya. Technology will advance but the real question is will it actually be used in mass.
