Okay so there is this sailing simulator I play called Virtual Sailor, it has many addon boats but I don't know how to model. I simply want to take a model and edit a few things for myself.

Convert it into a format that would work with Blender or 3dsMax.

Watch a few tutorials on modeling with Blender/3dsmax.
