What the fuck happened to my computer just now?

About an hour ago I turn on my computer and it's working as usual for about half an hour. Suddenly Steam freezes and I figure "lol steam" and attempt to ctrl alt delete it but the menu thing that pops up on Windows 7 when you press it doesn't respond. I do a hard reboot because I waited about 3 minutes with nothing. It fails to fully load my desktop and only shows the taskbar. I restart again and now it wont even get passed the Welcome screen. It does a few times but then gets stuck on a black screen after. Safe mode doesn't even work. I fixed it by doing a destructive recovery. Does anyone know what the fuck happened? It's working now but I want to know what it was.

If it's a Western Digital, expect it happen again.

But this time, you'd be fucked no matter what and require a new HDD.

if it was a failing hdd i would except more than what he said happened... Sounds more like a corrupted file than a failing hdd

Naaa, If it was a corrupted file some non serious sit would happen.


IMO you need to get your ass on newegg and go buy a new Seagate or some shit
